He stretched and pulled the clay
And made a long and curvy beak
Perfect for the gathering of wild fruits and berries

You could've had this beak he said the bird
And he squeezed the clay into a stubby hook
This beak is for someone who cannot wait his turn
He said to the bird

And your long and slender neck will be the shortest of all he said
as he squashed the bird's head down into his shoulders
And I will give you the biggest ears he said to the bird
Cause maybe one day you will listen with them

And your legs for wading along the shore shall be short and fat"
And your scruffy wings and stubby tail will help you sail through branches high in the forest" he said to the bird
He rolled the bird through the muddy dirt on the ground

your fiery feathers shall be the color of the soil
And your eyes shall be the biggest. Too big for the bright sun of the day when I am about and awake" he said to the bird
The night shall be your time, hiding all the while in old and broken trees
Secluded from everyone else

And the dude threw the bird into the air
as the last rays of sun faded into the woods
and the bird flew off into the darkness

And his bird disappeared
He was never seen again
For he was ashamed of himself
For being who he was

He never knew what it was like to be the person he wanted to be
He was too impatient for it
And he flies away for as long as possible
To get away from everyone else
Since that is the only way to get away from everything
